Why I have been so busy and a bad blogger

So last week I left you hanging. I basically told y’all that I’ve been super busy and that’s why I’ve been a bad blogger friend. One of the biggest reasons why I haven’t had much time to blog is:

Kyle and I are shoppin’ for a house!!

Yep. Soon (well, as soon as we buy a house. don’t really know how soon it will actually be) I will be very poor and it will be awesome! I’m so excited to start this next chapter of our lives together!

But whoever said turning 21 made you feel like an adult was a liar. Meeting with a mortgage broker, realtor, and all those people involved in buying a house- they make you feel like an adult. Bleh. It’s super scary but in the most awesome way.

We actually fell in love with a house last week and went as far as putting an offer on it. Well, 26 other people/couples loved it too and we didn’t end up getting that house. Oh well, I think we lost that house for a reason and we’ll find something we love even more.

Because of house hunting, that whole running thing has been on the back burner. I ran a couple times last week and did a tiny bit of strength training throughout. Other than that I didn’t really have the time (or energy) to do anything else.

Last Monday and this past Monday, I woke up around 5AM to run. It sounds like I’m all motivated and whatnot, but really I just roll out of bed and I’m like ugh,

I’m hoping this week will be better. I got in a 30 min run + abs yesterday. Today was cross training, and I hope to get some good runs in later this week. Maybe with a buddy?

It’s now 7PM and I want to go to bed already #iam90. Still have a lot of blogs to catch up on! Please don’t be offended if I haven’t caught up on yours yet! Hoping I’ll get back to regular blogging soon!

Home owners- what was your first home purchase experience like?

Any members of the 5AM workout club out there? How do you stay motivated?

  1. Oh yay so exciting! We decided to buy a lake house two years ago. Rock is so trusting that he let me fly to michigan and look at houses and call to tell him we were putting an offer on one. He saw it the day before we closed. He hated the process as he felt like the bank delved into every personal thing about you. Scary but so fun! I spent an entire 10k distracting myself by thinking about how I would decorate :). Congrats to you both!

    1. WHAT?!! Woahhh that’s trust for ya! LOL OMG it’s so hard to concentrate at work sometimes. When we put the offer on the house and we were waiting, I spent wayyyy too much time on Pinterest “decorating.” Thank you so much!! 😀

  2. I am a member of the 5am workout group but luckily, workout in a team environment so accountability keeps up motivation. I will skip tomorrow as I just got home (it’s midnight) from the City council meeting. First house, FUN! It was our third one which was the hardest (because it was to be out “forever” house) And for me, it is.

  3. Congrats on house hunting, I hope you find something incredible! And geez I think I’ve woken up at 5 to workout maybe a total of twice in my life, only advice I can offer is get started before you’re awake enough to realize you’re exercising 😉

  4. Ahhhhhhhhhhh CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Holy Moly, girlie I am so stinkin excited for you!
You should toats go on House Hunters and have someone else do all of the work for you 🙂 at least that is what I think to myself every time I have to move as a renter haha!

    Goooood luck!

    1. HAHA THANK YOU!! LOL is it weird that I looked up House Hunter application stuff- but I found out that show is a total lie. Most “house hunters” have already found their house and are in escrow when they film and they just pick some random other homes to film at. Also they only get paid $500…

      1. Right?!!

I was not surprised in the least, my sister however, was devastated lol.

  5. A house!!! I am so excited for you and Kyle! 🙂
I am often part of the 5am workout club. Things that make me feel better: letting myself spend 5 minutes on my computer before I even change into workout clothes (this somehow makes it easier for me to get out of bed), letting myself run the first mile as slow as humanly possible, and thinking about how awesome it is to be DONE with a workout at 6:30am. Plus, you get to see the sunrise!!

    1. Thank you!!! You’re a rockstar! I might have to try the computer thing…I can usually only do 5AM 2x max per week haha. In college I did it 5 days a week no problem. I must be getting old…

  6. Ahhh sooo excited for you and Kyle! The home-buying experience is super scary, but in a very exciting way. And take it from a homeowner, it’s TOTALLY worth it. You will love owning a home! And I agree with the House Hunters comment above me…. I would absolutely watch you guys haha!

  7. Woohoo! Congrats on the house hunting, that is a HUGE step. We still live in our first house that we bought in 2010 and we want to stay there for a while. The process for buying a house is extremely daunting but worth it in the end. I’ve never heard of anyone who had a smooth home buying experience, but it always works out in the end so that is something to look forward to. 🙂

  8. ahhh good luck with this big event, girl! definitely never considered buying a house (brrrrppp buying in NYC will neverrrr happen!) and i’m sure it’s a ton of stress. 5am? ummm nope. 6:30 is pushing it for me. 🙂

  9. HERE YOU ARE! That’s such great news!!! Welcome to the wonderful world of home shopping! (We are currently doing the exact same thing!) You know there are lovely houses over here in Maryland. Then we could wake up and be the 5am workout crew together. Although unfortunately there aren’t any creepy yards around here like you have so that’s definitely a strike against this area.

I hope the rest of the process goes really smoothly for you guys and you are in your dream home soon! I’m so excited for you!

    1. Haha thank you so much!!!! LOL that 5AM workout crew would be you throwing the covers off of me and yanking me out of bed. I guess it would work though 😉 PAHAHA I consider that a plus that you don’t have creepy yards!! Thanks again love 🙂

  10. Wow, so excited for the two of you! And like you said, you didn’t get that particular house for a reason 🙂
I am more like a 6am runner IF I’m meeting with other people from my running group… otherwise, there’s no way I’m getting out of bed, haha.

    1. Awww thank you!!! LOL! I wish I could run at 6 AM but it doesn’t currently work with my schedule! Hopefully when Kyle and I move in together, my schedule will change and I can sleep in a little longer!

  11. Good luck on the house hunting! Definitely exciting and scary because it involves lots money and you feel like you’re signing your life away! When I found my first place I took all the flyers in the bin so no one else could call. I called and called the number but no answer and so I went back to the place the next day and saw there were more flyers so I took them all again. They had a typo in the phone number. Anyway I think I got the place because no one else called! Hehe! Best part, you and Kyle are making nice memories together. Good luck!

  12. Girl I hear you on bring way behind- I went mia last week and need to catch- running and blogs! Glad you’re back and congrats on the exciting news!

  13. Congrats on the new adventure!

I’m sort of part of the 5AM workout club. I wake up at 5 so I can leave at 5:45 to cycle the 16 miles to work. It’s hard to get up that early and be active, and I have to talk myself into it a lot of mornings, but I always end up feeling great once I’m on the bike, and I guess that’s what keeps me going.

Talk to me!
