I recently received a VoxBox from Influenster to test out some products! I think it was Valentine’s Day themed (I received it after Valentine’s Day). I feel a little bad about taking so long to post this, but I wanted to try the products before I actually review them. what a concept.
The first item that I tried was the Red Rose Simply Indulgent Tea– more specifically, Crème Caramel.
Holy delicious. It really tastes like there’s caramel in there. As delicious as the tea was, I always look at the ingredients of my food/drinks.
Ingredients: BLACK TEA, NATURAL CREME CARAMEL FLAVOR, NATURAL CARAMEL FLAVOR
I don’t really know how they get the last 2 ingredients (I looked up some examples), but I don’t like the sound of it for my tea.
I DO know that according to the FDA, “natural” on means
the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate, or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional.
The big picture– Natural is vague and can mean a lot of things. It tasted good but I won’t be buying it.
The next items I tried were Hershey Kisses
Most of you may know that I’m not a chocolate lover. However, certain times of the month I will crave anything sweet- ladies, you know what I’m talking about. Hershey Kisses are perfect because they are bite sized. I can eat one and it satisfies my craving. And then I’m back to disliking chocolate.
Luckily I keep a candy jar on my desk at work for coworkers. Unlike me, most of them are obsessed with chocolate. So I poured the giant bag of candy in there. #howimakefriends
I also received Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes
I did NOT try these because I have blepharitis (basically my eye lids have a tendency to become irritated, specifically at the lash line). Plus it’s a little excessive to wear fake lashes to work (and I’m boring and don’t go anywhere).
So instead, I gave them to my BFF who competes in acro. They have to wear stage makeup, including fake lashes. She’s the one in the middle doing the splits.
You’re welcome to now feel inadequate about yourself.
My favorite item was the Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask!
Can’t believe I just posted that on the internet. oh well, you can always delete things from the internet and it’s like it was never there…
Even if it did nothing for my face, at least I had
too much fun putting it on. You leave it on for 10 minutes, and it dries and hardens (you can see it starting to dry). But after removing my mask, my face felt clean and baby’s bottom smooth. Definitely a keeper!
The final item that I tried was the John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray.
Unfortunately I wasn’t too impressed by this. Keep in mind, I have VERY frizzy hair that is naturally wavy. This type of hair is known to be hard to tame. If you have fairly straight hair with a little bit of frizz, this might work for you.
Have you tried any of these products?
Do you put candy out for coworkers? I’m kind of obsessed with doing this.
Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
