Olives are not good in smoothies

Is it just me or do you feel super behind on blogging on Mondays? I don’t feel caught up until Tuesday afternoons! I apologize for being MIA on most weekends, but I’m usually busy with family stuff. I definitely post on Instagram though!

Speaking of which, if you follow me on the IG, you know that last night I almost screwed up a perfectly delicious protein smoothie for today’s breakfast.

I reached into the fridge and grabbed what I thought were blueberries. Luckily I checked at the last second and realized they were black olives. I hate olives. Especially in smoothies.

This AM’s breakfast smoothie- RAW Organic protein powder, almond milk, chia seeds, blueberries, banana, and a splash of apple cider vinegar (helps to balance your pH and keep your body alkaline) and olives.

Anyways, Mondays are usually my non-running days. Yesterday I did my Love Your Legs and Booty (x3) workout from Tone It Up.

If you’ve never heard of TIU, it’s a wonderful exercise program/community aimed towards women. I love that it’s about overall health, no quick-fixes, living a healthy lifestyle, and girl power!

I was also going to add in a quick jog, but I talked myself out of it. I have to remember that non-running days are there for a reason…

I’m getting pretty pumped for Wednesday! After work, I meet up with Kyle and then we’re driving down to LA for our 5 year anniversary. We’ll be spending it at Disneyland πŸ™‚

Happy Tuesday folks!

If you haven’t already entered, don’t forget about my Spartan Race Giveaway!

How have you accidentally screwed up food (or almost screwed up)? I also popped the shaker lid off of red pepper flakes and made some green beans completely inedible.

Tone It Up lover? Is this your first time hearing about it?

  1. I love olives, but not sure how I’d feel about those salty suckers in my smoothie. I messed up a ton when I got married but I learned quickly and stepped it up. Apparently you can’t just have salad every night for dinner with your spouse πŸ™‚ Best place ever to spend your anniversary!! How long are you guys there for?

    1. Hahaha I know right! Every time I eat a light dinner, I think about how that will not happen when I get married lol. We leave for Irvine Wed night, but we do Disneyland Thurs and Fri! We head back home on Sunday.

  2. 1. I accidentally burnt corn dogs last night. Corn dogs. How is that even possible?!
    2. Tell me more about this RAW protein powder! I’ve been looking for a way to add protein into my smoothies, but haven’t found a protein powder I’ve wanted to try yet!
    3. Can’t believe you’re going to Disney Land. So jealous!

    1. 1. LOL OMG too funny!
      2. I buy this from Whole Foods when it’s on sale or I get it on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Organic-Protein-Grams/dp/B0031JK96C/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1389194825&sr=1-2&keywords=Garden+of+Life+RAW). I have a sensitive stomach and am lactose intolerant, so I wanted to avoid whey protein as that can be an issue for some people. I usually get vanilla πŸ™‚ Let me know if you have more questions!
      3. πŸ˜€ I’m so excited!!!!

  3. So fun! I’ve gone to use my sea salt without realizing the top was broken and made food inedible. Multiple times (I need to buy a new container of salt). Have fun at Disney!

  4. your smoothie (sans olives, phew) sounds delish. i always hated olives but they’ve grown on me… “they” being the purple kalamata kind. the others, blech. have a fabulous anniversary — 5 years! i can’t even begin to count how many boys i’ve kissed in the past 5 years, so that’s an incredible testament to you. πŸ™‚ xo

  5. Your post made me laugh. Olives are so so so grosse. I am glad you saved your smoothie! Also, I have been following TIU on Instagram for awhile and have thought about getting the DVD. Glad to know you enjoy it! Have a blast at Disneyland!
