My sister hates me now. And surf and turf.

Saturday WORKOUT:

Since my sister is home from school for the holidays, I dragged took her on a run with me! She doesn’t really run, so we didn’t go far. I ran a little over 2 miles with her, dropped her off at home, and then ran until I hit 5.10 miles.

5.10 miles, 10:15 pace (10:42, 11:46, 9:48, 9:36, 9:26). Slow run, but lately my body has been needing slow runs.

After bagels and coffee with Kyle, we watched Anchorman to get ready for the second one coming out.ย Then we got ready for a busy evening. Oh but first I did my post-run traditional snuggle party with my pup

Last year for Christmas, we gave Kyle’s Oma and Opa (grandma and grandpa) a gift certificate for a home-cooked steak and lobster dinner. We over heard his Oma saying she had never had one. We looked at nearby restaurants and couldn’t find something we liked, so we figured we’d bring the dinner to them!

So Saturday afternoon, we drove up to Napa. We obviously had to dress alike.

They said that it was wonderful, and I think everyone (including us) had a great night.

After their meal, Kyle and I drove home and got ready to go to his family friends’ holiday party. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos, but their house is always decorated wonderfully. We enjoyed drinks, desserts, and catching up with Kyle’s friends.

I’m thoroughly exhausted, and cannot wait for the workday to be over (I took Tuesday off)!

Do you run with your siblings?

Have you ever had a steak and lobster dinner? Nope, I don’t like either

  1. I don’t think they will stop talking about this for a very long time. Oma even made a very rare facebook status update! I have never run with my sister, my kids, yes.

    1. Haha thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

Awwww that’s a wonderful idea! Kyle scootered next to me one time when I was trying to do a timed 5K. He would ride ahead when I approached a street, make sure there were no cars, and then wave me through so I wouldn’t have to slow down. It was a lot of fun…for me lol

  2. What a fantastic gift to give, so thoughtful and you two look pretty cute ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve run with my sister a few years back but not that far/long. My brother is more of a gym/lift weights kind of guy. I keep telling them we should run a 5 or 10k together someday but our schedules never seem to line up for that.

  3. Looks like fun! Before my sister moved back to Florida, we ran together all the time. Now we can only do so at races that we’re both at. Just a couple more weeks and we’ll get to run 4 days in a row!

  4. What a great idea for a gift! As far as running with my sister, we live to far apart. But I am sure if we were closer we would run together. She runs a lot of 5K’s so I’m sure we would probably do those together (especially the costume ones!). Maybe one of these days we will have our schedules and locations match up long enough. (I do run with my daughter sometimes though) Glad you and your sis got to enjoy one together.

Talk to me!
