Hey kids! Thanks to all of you who have entered my Road ID giveaway! I’m so excited to give someone this great safety tool! If you haven’t entered yet, it’s NOT too late! The giveaway is open until 12/12 🙂
So, as some of you may have noticed on Instagram, yesterday was my birthday 🙂
Unfortunately I still had to go to work. My coworker and I think that your personal birthday should be a holiday- meaning every person should get the day off on their birthday. We’re drafting up the letter to send to the holiday making people. I think I send it via unicorn on the rainbow express train?
Anyways, once I got to work, I got busy doing grown-up things. Answering phones, pushing paper, water-cooler chit chat. Actually I do none of that.
But I was working at my desk, and someone knocks on my cube. Kyle showed up and delivered me flowers for my birthday. He’s kind of the best.
It really made my day 🙂
I didn’t do anything special for lunch because I went to a group lunch for my company’s volunteers. I’m a volunteer on our first-aid/search and rescue team, and our green team. Every December, they throw us a thank you lunch. So that was fun! Plus, Thursday my friends took me to lunch and coffee!
I was given some goodies by lovely coworkers
And before I knew it, the work-day was over.
On the way home, I picked up Kyle and my bibs for our 5K Ugly Sweater Dash tomorrow!
Cannot wait to show you my sweater 🙂
I also got something pretty amazing in the mail from my friend Scott (aka Pirate Bobcat). He went to the Emmy’s a little while ago and stole me some swag. So thoughtful of him, right??
Somehow he got the idea that I’m really into penguins.
No idea where he got that from…
Side note: I debated running in this for the ugly sweater run cause Kristina at Damn Ten Pounds said she’d buy me a Nerds Rope if I ran in a onesie. I can be bought apparently.
Anyways, later last night my parents took Kyle and me to dinner at Maria Maria, a local Mexican restaurant that is actually one of Carlos Santana’s restaurants.
I get Mexican food for dinner every year for my birthday. It started when I was really little and wanted to go to Chevy’s just so I could play with the dough.
After dinner was presents, cake, and working on my ugly sweater. Check out what I got from Kyle:
Yup. We’re going to Cirque du Soleil on Sunday 🙂 So. Freaking. Excited. ANDDDD he’s hand-making me a holder for my race medals and bibs. He spoils me 🙂
And on to dessert. In my opinion, a birthday isn’t a birthday without cake.
So yummy. But I’m fairly certain the main ingredient was cottage cheese thighs.
Thank you all for the birthday love! Now I’m off to go run around in an ugly sweater! Have a happy Saturday!
Do you have any birthday traditions? Mexican food!
Is birthday cake a must for you? Duh.
