Sorry for being MIA! I’ve been busy with family stuff so I’ve neglected my blog duties <–I think that’s a good excuse, no? This year I had 3 Thanksgiving celebrations. Read- 3 opportunities for desserts 😉
Thanksgiving day was spent with my dad’s side of the family.
My mom and I were busy in the kitchen making food to bring over. She made a cranberry lemon bundt cake and pumpkin cupcakes. I only tried the bundt cake, but it was amazeballs. I think the 5 lbs added to my ass would agree.
I made caramelized onion mashed potatoes (and later I made roasted asparagus).
That’s 5 pounds of chopped onions. The Cuisinart Food Processor saved my life…and my eyes.
After prepping our food and ourselves, we all drove to my aunt and uncle’s house. There was a lot of chatting, eating, game playing, eating, photo taking, and eating.
Some food pictures of typical Thanksgiving eats:
one of the turkeys (a lot of people were over)
green beans (thank goodness these weren’t the green bean casserole form, which I hate)
Grandpa’s famous homemade stuffing
frozen pumpkin pie (AKA ice cream with pumpkin pie filling on top, AKA amazing)
The girls’ table. Usually the younger boys get sent to the kids’ table, but my aunt wanted us there this time because she said she didn’t want the boys breaking those plates. Surrrre. We all know it’s cause they wanted to get rid of us 😉
And the night always ends with my dad taking group photos while everyone complains and makes fun of him for taking forever, but secretly know that they will want those pictures later. Here’s a few:
The cousins and the grandparents
And the whole crew
Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving!
Fill me in! What have y’all been up to?
Any turkey trotters out there? Did you have a good time?
What was the best part of your Thanksgiving?
How many desserts did you eat? 2 on THAT day 🙂
