Exciting (to me) news and Workout Recap

Now, I just realized that I haven’t been updating you on my workouts for this week. Woops. I wonder if they’ll take back my title and the pretty little badge?

Monday WORKOUT: 

Stretch and strength training. I did an arm workout + the 30 day thigh challenge

Tuesday WORKOUT: 

Easy 5 mile jog. Never thought those words would come out of my mouth. It was supposed to be at a pace that I could hold a conversation at. My overall pace was 9:58.

I ran without music, and it was really nice to run and not worry about time. I actually enjoyed looking at the fall foliage. Not going to lie, definitely ran out of my way a few times to step on crunchy looking leaves. #iam5

Wednesday WORKOUT: 

I don’t think I’ve told you guys, but on Wednesdays after work, my mom and I go over to my aunt’s house to help her out (my mom does the helping). My mom helps tutor my little twin cousins.

My uncle gets home late on Wed, so my mom helps 1 kid out with homework, while my aunt helps the other. Told you my mom does everything for family.

While they get all smart and what not, I get my sweat on. I get to use my aunt’s fancy treadmill. FYI my definition of a fancy treadmill is anything made this century. But it is nice.

35 min tempo run (+ thigh challenge)– 10 min warm-up jog, 15 min run at 9:05 pace, 10 min cool-down/jog. I think it added up to about 3.25 miles.

I didn’t really care how far I went, this was all about those 15 minutes at a certain pace (at least according to my training schedule). It was super hard for some reason. I definitely ran 10 miles under that pace on Saturday, so I guess I morphed into a wimp.

After my run, I came downstairs and one of the boys (Austin) was making me a bracelet. These rainbow looms are quite the hit right now. When I was a kid, lanyards were all the rage.

I got to pick out the colors and I made it match my Garmin and running shoes. #dork

Thursday WORKOUT:

3 mile jog + thigh challenge.

After my runs and workouts, I always snuggle with my dog, aka I roll around on the floor with her and talk to her in weird voices #imnotcrazymymomhadmetested

Well, after my shower, she wasn’t done snuggling. Why she always has to lay on my feet, I will never know.

  1. I love it when I run through the paved trail in the park and the fall leaves on the ground are kicked up in the air by my passing wind. I hear them falling back to the ground behind me…makes me feel speedy!

    And congrats on being able to say, “easy five miles!” How great does that feel to say haha.

    What a sweet cousin! I may not crunch leaves, but if we were to get snow…I was telling my friend today how much I wish we could build snowmen and snow angles in Easter NC haha

    1. Gaww thanks! Haha I know, I never thought I would be able to say that about 5 miles!

      I sooo wish I could play in the snow too! We rarely (maybe once every few years) get snow where I live. If we get snow, it sticks for a few hours and then it’s gone :/
