Happy National Everything Day

Stretch and Strength training. Definitely needed to do both of those. BUT I was super tired and lame and didn’t do much of the strength training. Hopefully posting it on here will keep me more accountable next time?

Total of:

  • 75 squats
  • 25 crunches
  • 25 v-sits
  • 25 oblique crunches (per side)
  • 45 push-ups
  • 30 burpees
  • 25 single leg squats with hip abduction
  • 40 plie squats

I haven’t been sleeping well, so it’s really affecting my motivational-workout-Amy side.

Tuesday WORKOUT:

Ran 3.5 miles (weird running half miles as that was the first time that was on my schedule). It was physically easy, but mentally super hard. I just can’t run long on the treadmill.

So far today, I’ve heard it’s National Best Friend Day, National Oatmeal Day, and National Chocolate Day. Can we really have all those on one day? Meh, why not?

So here you go. Luckily I started my day with oatmeal.

Purple oatmeal...aka oatmeal with blueberries

My best friends- I have many. I’m a firm believer in that there is no such thing as only being able to have 1 best friend. That’s like saying you have a favorite kid. <– my dad just thought of something snotty to say to that.

Obviously Kyle.

My wittle sister

And my BFF, Shanna. We’ve actually known each other since we were about 3-4 years old.

And chocolate. So as you know, I’m not a huge chocolate lover. <– I think I just gained some enemies. BUT my mom brought me back some super yummy chocolate from Switzerland, so I promise I will eat a piece tonight. #toughlife

Oh and P.S. Kyle and I will be carving our pumpkins tonight, so hopefully I will have pics tomorrow…if the power doesn’t go out again.

How do you stay motivated when you just don’t want to work out?

Who is/are your best friend(s)?

Did you eat oatmeal or chocolate today? Get to it kids!

  1. I married my best friend but have several very dear friends including my sister (Aunt Ingrid), Leila, and Kristi. I had oatmeal for breakfast and a piece of dark chocolate after lunch. My fit bit keeps me motivated AND I get to start “running” again soon (did about 1/4 mile today on my walk). I need your reference for training. Leila and I have decided to do another 1/2 together . . . . training begins soon. I’d love to conquer that course in NY but am aiming for something a bit less hilly (and local). If we don’t do one before, I’m planning the SJ Rock and Roll you did- that looked amazing.

  2. If I have enough time after my morning run and before I go to work, I always make some Irish Oatmeal with blueberries, flax seed, and local unfiltered honey! Oh, and I’m lucky to see my best friend every day! I just have to look in the mirror! (joking)

      1. Good idea. Do you keep it in the fridge? I read the when Ryan Reynolds trained for his marathon that he made a whole bunch and put them in the freezer and then zap em in the morning.

        1. Yes, I keep it in the fridge in a microwave safe container so there’s no wasted morning time on transferring food into bowls and what not (not a morning person, can you tell?). I have heard of freezing it too, but have never tried it (I will some day)- but hey, if it’s good enough for Ry Reynolds, good enough for me!
