Weekend Update

Weekend update

Remember Saturday, Kyle surprised me with bagels

He came up with the brilliant idea of Saturday bagels. I suggested we run to the bagel shop. He suggested that we not do that.

So we said that I would run there and meet him there. I mean, if I were to start eating a bagel every week, it’d go straight to my ass and Kyle would probably drop a couple pounds…

Saturday night I went over to Kyle’s house for a delicious dinner

burger dinner
The first time I’ve had red meat in probably almost a year!

Later that night we tried to see Captain Phillips for the 3rd time. This time I threw up in the theatre.

JK! Haha got you didn’t I? I think we gave up on trying to see that until it comes out on DVD.

Sunday I went on my first long(ish) run since my ankle problems!

6, very slow and careful miles. The whole time I was focusing on my ankle and trying to step carefully.

1:02:36, 10:26 pace (yikes!). 10:49, 10:42, 10:46, 10:22, 9:57, 10:00

I almost got run over by cyclists…twice. Some group/camp was taking a bunch of kids on a bike ride on the trail and failed to teach them proper bike etiquette. I was proud of myself for not swearing at them.

Also on Sunday, my mom came home from her trip! She was in Switzerland for business, and then went to Florence with my aunt for funzies.

Look atย all the cute stuff she brought back for me:

switzerland cake swiss chocolate

That little cake thing was just something random thing the hotel gave to her, and that’s Swiss chocolate. I don’t actually like chocolate all that much (insert gasps) but I’m always willing to try the good stuff #snob. It was actually quite good.

And she got me this cute ornament (LOVE Christmas ornaments) and these 2 aprons (one is for me and one for my sister). The yellow bread apron has a bunch of photos of bread with their Italian names, and the black one has a Florence landscape with some landmarks.

She got me some other stuff but I don’t want to ruin it for my sister who has to wait until she comes home from school!

How was your weekend?

Do you know someone who can eat their body weight in food and not gain an ounce? I hate them…

  1. My husband can eat like that. He’s mid-40s and in better shape than most 20 year olds. It’s amazing and makes me that much more crazy about him! ๐Ÿ™‚

Your Swiss delights sound yummy. I haven’t spent any time in Switzerland but have flown SwissAir a few times and that was enough to make me love their chocolate. xo

  2. The weekend was wonderful, but I’m already ready for this weekend to get it’s butt here.

And yes — my husband. I don’t get how his weight doesn’t move AT ALL. Whether he eats like a bird, or like a cow. I seriously don’t get it. He can snack on more calories while we cook than I eat in my entire meal, I swear. I’m not even mad, I’m just impressed I guess. Ok– maybe a little mad.

  3. Oh yes, I have a family friend who is a tiny little Filipino girl and she can eat a ton of food and not gain anything. But she’s awesome, so I just can’t be too jealous. :p
My weekend and week has consisted of sleeping, eating junk, and being sick. Good times!

Talk to me!
