I used to hate running. That Presidential Fitness test in school- loved everything BUT the mile. After running my first half marathon on Sunday, I’ve thought about why I run now.
I RUN BECAUSE…
I love to eat frozen yogurt. Actually, desserts in general. P.S. According to Anne of Candy Crazed Run, it is a scientific fact that frozen yogurt is critical to long run recovery. Can’t argue with science 😉
it gives me an excuse to eat waffles or a PB&J sandwich for dinner and call it carbo loading
I like that I can set a (running) goal and accomplish something
I can meet so many awesome people through running/blogging
it gives me an excuse to buy cute workout clothes
it gave me an excuse to buy this shirt
it gives me an excuse to wear yoga pants all day
it’s a great way to get outside
I want the damn medal
it gives me something to be proud of
I want them to be proud of me (ignore me in the photo)
I can. I used to use my bulged disc as an excuse NOT to run (I would only run up to 3 miles). I had pain when I ran longer distances, which is a good excuse, but life is about learning to adapt. I finally learned how to change how I run and to listen to my body. There are plenty of people out there with back issues, knee issues, hip issues, and people with no legs! If they can run, so can I. #noexcuses
Why do you run?
P.S. This is my 100th post 🙂
