Kyle’s sister is off travelling the world on the cruise ship she works for. Today she posted a video of her at an aquarium in Québec and it made me remember how much I love Québec!
I’ve been to Québec twice, once in 2008 and again in 2012. I am a francophile but we couldn’t afford to go to France as a family, so we went to Montréal in 2008. In 2012, my mom had a work conference so my dad and I tagged along (Annie was still in school).
2008- Montréal, December
K, you know how people refer to Canada as “The Great White North?” They weren’t lyin. This is why
It’s incredibly cold (in the winter), but beautiful. We actually didn’t have to go above ground for a lot of the trip because you can get to a lot of places underground.
2012- Québec City and Montréal, June
We stayed in a nearby city and had to take a water taxi to get to Québec City.
This is actually a hotel (and I was told it was never a castle- kind of bummed about that).
It kind of looks like you’re on a movie set.
The second half of the trip we stayed in Laval (very close to Montréal) because of my mom’s work conference. She was stuck in seminars, and my dad and I ventured off in to Montréal.
We visited the Olympic Stadium and actually watch some people on their National Diving Team practice.
We also went to a Cirque du Soleil show, which started in Montréal! So much fun!
Oh and here’s the Biodôme de Montréal in the summer
If you get the opportunity to visit Québec, I highly recommend it!
Have you ever been to Québec?
