Happy first day of fall!
So yesterday’s post was all writing and no photos- I apologize. I always find blogs more interesting WITH photos, so today I’m going to give you a picture overload!
If you read yesterday’s post, you know that I ran my last long-ish run before my first half marathon! It was gloomy, but I actually liked it because it meant no heat…until it started to rain…this I did not like so much- mostly because it was slippery and I was concerned about my clumsy self falling and getting injured by like a wet leaf or something ridiculous.
And then of course in the afternoon the sun came out
BTW I actually LOVE the fall. The weather (for the most part), the leaves, pumpkin carving, clothing, the whole shabang.
A lot of you have been reminding me to taper, which I know is necessary, but hard to do. So I thought it was funny that I stumbled upon this today- dealing with taper stress and the importance of tapering. If that’s not a sign, I don’t know what is!
It was actually a great article that talked about how important a positive mindset is. Runners who go in to tapering with a positive attitude tend to perform better in their race than those who have reservations and dread tapering. So call me Pollyanna!
After my run, eating, icing, and stretching, I had to study (for the GRE). WILD Saturday, I know. I put on some comfy clothes and hit the books…or apparently played around on my phone and took pictures of myself.
And of course my cat had to take up a large portion of my chair. I know I’m not the only cat owner who has this problem. Am I right??
Some more procrastination- I saw my retainer and mouth guard when I went to the bathroom and thought it was a good time to clean them…
My milkshake denture cleaner brings all the boys to the yard…
Late in the afternoon, Kyle called and we both realized we were on our own for dinner. So we teamed up and decided to cook at his house. Panini and roasted carrots!
Kyle and I had “help” in the kitchen
And the delicious panino
We were both exhausted from our busy days (Kyle did a lot of car work), so the night ended with watching a couple episodes of Dexter. crazy kids.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
What’s your favorite panino recipe?
Do you procrastinate a lot when you should be studying/doing something else?
Do you love fall? Or what’s your favorite season?
