Snowmen, Ugly Sweaters, and Penguin-shaped Food

Wednesday WORKOUT:

Ran 5 miles: 1 mile warm up, 3 miles at half marathon pace (8:54), 1 mile cool down.

46:06, 9:12 pace- 10:21, 8:57, 8:50, 8:45, 9:08.

Didn’t do half bad with the middle 3 mile pacing if I do say so myself. And got to try out my new running shorts that might be my new favorite! They have built-in compression shorts (although I don’t feel like they compress all that much).

Ignore my pasty white legs and random boo boos that I have no idea where they came from

And now we’re going to go further back in time…

Tuesday

After work on Tuesday, I went with my mom to Costco, the most beautiful store ever. Hey, if I can buy sports bras, tires, and enough Greek yogurt to deplete the milk from a few dozen cows, I’m in! Not that I’ve ever purchased tires from Costco, but I like that I have the option.

I was really pleased to see how much they have improved on their selection of organic goods. They have a whole area dedicated to organics, plus I think they post the prices of all the organic items on green paper (instead of the usual white) now- so it’s easier to spot!

And because you can NEVER buy Christmas decorations too early, I tried to guilt my mom into buying a life size light-up snowman (it assembles into a much larger snowman).

She says she will buy one once I have kids. Apparently her own kids aren’t good enough…

I kid. No one needs a $90 snowman #butitsprettyfreakingawesome

When we got home, I quickly hopped on the treadmill to get my 3 miles in (because of the power outage on Tuesday, I had to move my morning run to after work).

Tuesdays are also my days to go to Kyle’s house after work. I scarfed down dinner and got to his house right when he had finished his dinner.

And I don’t think that I told you, a couple days ago, I talked Kyle into running in a 5K Ugly Holiday Sweater Run with me!

Capture

We bought a Groupon for it, so we registered for the event that night too. So excited! But I have to wait until December…

We also caught up on an episode of Dexter. We are way behind, so no spoilers please or I will go all Bay Harbor Butcher on you. Kyle’s family’s dog was really into the episode as well.

We told him not to sit so close because it's bad for his eye, but he didn't really care
We told him not to sit so close because it’s bad for his eyes. He must have good insurance because he didn’t really care.

Oh and because Kyle’s mom is freaking awesome, check out what she got me just because it reminded her of me

Holy. Freaking. Awesome.

Penguin shaped ice cube trays! If you didn’t know, I’m a little obsessed with penguins. Get ready for penguin shaped everything. If you can freeze it or solidify it, I’m gonna make it.

So far I’m excited to freeze coconut water to throw it into smoothies and what not. But I also just realized that that’s a little morbid because I would be shredding the poor guys into a slushied mess. Maybe penguin shaped food isn’t as awesome as I thought it would be. nahhhh.

BTW there might be some reformatting of my website soon. Please feel free to let me know if you love it or hate it!

Do you love Costco? uhh you better

Do you love holiday decorations as much as I do?

  1. Last night Kyle and I watched the Masterchef finale together. I was thinking, it would be incredibly fun to make panna cotta and put into the penguin molds. It would be little bites of deliciousness (very artfully displayed) and a fun sauce that the penguin could slide around in . . . . BTW, Saw the foot surgeon yesterday who said I can sign up for the ugly sweater run . . . . 2014. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Friday is my cocktail night . . . would not at all be opposed to some penguins floated around . . . or I could defer till Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Talk to me!
