I hope this year is filled with love and happiness, and that you enjoy your anniversary as much as the rest of us are.

My sister said one of the best ways to get over a test is to go shopping. I didn’t want to offend her by not listening to her advice, so yesterday my mom and I hit up the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I realized I don’t actually like shopping, I just like getting new stuff. Tip for you cranky sales associates (yesterday), if you don’t like dealing with customers, find a new job and/or pull the stick out of your butt.
If I could have a personal shopper who would bring me clothes that fit, look good, and are stylish, I’d be a happy camper. Noted, for when I make my first few million…
Nordstrom is, by far, one of my favorite places to shop. I LOVE their return policy and the huge selection of items. Uber-rich-dream-Amy can pretend to buy a Prada bag, and practical-reality-Amy can scour the sale racks. I mostly shop in their Juniors department (BP) or in the adult sections when items are on sale. BP has a lot of great basics that are actually really affordable.
If you are shy about heading into the world of Justin Bieber lovers and over-users of the word “like,” shop online. They have free shipping and returns, OR you can have a lot of things ordered online but picked up in stores (usually pick up in customer service). Just a heads up, right now cropped tops are really “in”. I hate this trend- no one wants to see my belly, especially at work.
The one item I splurge on is jeans. I am a jeans-a-holic. My belief is that, I wear jeans almost every day of the year, so it is worth it to spend $$ on a quality pair that will last me for many years. TIP: Don’t dry your denim in the dryer. Hang dry and it will last longer.
I have purchased cheap pairs of jeans, and they always fade and/or stretch out within the first 6 months. Buy the cheaper “trendy” jeans (bright colors, patterns, etc.) that will go out of style in a couple years. Spend the money on the classics. Just my thought.
I got these Zella “Live In” Capri Leggings yesterday too.
I had been wanting them for a while, but didn’t want to spend $44 on them. Problem solved- $28.90 during the Anniversary sale. These are fabulous. Thicker, so no one can see the dorky flowers on your undies when you bend over, and no muffin top. win-win. I know I will use these as regular leggings AND for working out. I’m considering buying another pair while they’re on sale.
Finally, check out what arrived in the mail!
And my shirt!
Had to take it off right after I took this pic because I think it is bad luck to wear this unless you’ve actually ran a half marathon. No?
